Activities of FAMCO through the years

In 2009, Family Development Cooperative Thrift & Credit Society Ltd. (FAMCO) was registered as a Multi-State Cooperative Society under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, with the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies, New Delhi on 23.07.2009.

Families being the natural and basic structures of the society, the promoters of FAMCO have visualized the Development of Individual family members through their spirit of Cooperation first at the level of the Family, and to be extended at the level of the groups as well, and that of the nation at large.

Primary Objective:

The principal object of the Society will be to promote the interests of all its members to attain their social and economic betterment through self-help and mutual aid in accordance with the cooperative principles.

In all the 11 years as on 31.03.2020,totally Rs.10,43,35,000/- had been given as loans to 441 SHGs for 6814 families. The loans have helped the members to run self managed small business, school fees for children, redemption from high rate interest loans, agriculture, purchase of milchanimals ,goats,building house, house repair etc.

COVID19 Preventive steps taken:

FAMCO communicated the member SHGs through the Office bearers, on the various preventive steps to be taken to avoid the spread of the virus as instructed by the health department, Govt. of India.

 

An Inspiring Marble Statue of First Century at Greece

Message of the statue:

A Royal Messenger entrusted with an important message to be delivered is pierced by a poisonous thorn is spontaneously and carefully removing the thorn by his right hand from his left leg. If he doesn’t remove the thorn he may have to lose his leg and the message will not be delivered with negative consequences.

COVID19 is a poisonous thorn that pierced the Global Body of Humanity. CEM20 is the whole Humanity as one global body carefully removes the COVID19 from the Global Body of Humanity.

CORONA ERADICATION MOVEMENT 20: CEM20 is an association of inter religious volunteers from Pondicherry, who would like to work with the government spontaneously and carefully in fighting against Corona where ever it is needed:

1.  To promote volunteers from all walks of life to work for this movement in all the assembly constituencies of the union Territory of Puducherry to the following objectives

2.  To accelerate the process of removing the Corona virus by initiating the first step of testing all the persons in Pondicherry to isolate the infected persons in order to stop the spread of the virus.

3.  To involve more volunteers to make it a movement and enable them to create awareness on the urgent need of undergoing the test without fear for preventing the spread of the virus in the family as well as the neighbourhood.

4.  To help the families who are in need of financial support for the daily survival especially by providing suitable jobs for sustainability

5.  To arrange to provide necessary equipments on the basis of real time need for testing all persons in the containment areas so that to identify all potential infected persons for isolation.

Support to the Marginalised:

The nationwide curfew was also observed in Puducherry. During that time Ariancouppam village was sealed as there was one corona positive case was identified. As a result 250 families were left out with no food for them. FAMCO was approached by the state government volunteers for support.

FAMCO under the leadership of Rev.Fr.A.S.Antonisamy, Founder, FAMCO, to form the above voluntary group in the name “One Body Global Merciful Charity Group” and mobilized Rs.23,000/- for providing food to the people who were in hunger. Rs. 18,000/- was spent for providing lunch to the suffering families on 23, 25 and 28thof April 2020.
